What JaRanks is

JaRanks was founded in 2025 as a rankings site for services in Jamaica. It grew to 125 editorial rankings and more than a thousand provider profiles, mostly in health, property and the trades. In 2026 we rebuilt it around one rule: nothing is published without provenance. A listing is either matched to an official register, confirmed by the provider, or clearly marked Listed until it can be.

The site now covers three things. Rankings and directories of doctors, contractors, agents and other providers across the 14 parishes. Guides to government procedures such as land titling, TRN, building approval and returning-resident customs. And Ask Jamaica, which answers questions only from the documents on this site and cites them.

Editorial independence

Nobody can pay to appear on JaRanks, to move up a ranking, or to remove a competitor. We run no advertising and sell no placements. Providers may confirm or correct their own details, and that confirmation is shown as “Provider confirmed”, never as a higher rank.

What we will not do

• Invent phone numbers, hours, prices or licence numbers. Empty is better than wrong.
• Copy text from other websites. Descriptions are written by us.
• Give legal, medical, immigration or investment guarantees. We point you to the register, the agency or the law.
